Sound Artist

Hosted at Victory Christian College and open to students from all schools, this 8-week course introduces kids to the magic of interactive sound. Imagine a talking map, a musical floor mat, or a wall that plays chimes when touched.

Students will use MakeyMakey and Scratch to transform ordinary craft materials and everyday objects into sound-emitting inventions. Working through joyful, hands-on challenges, they will learn programming logic (sequencing, conditions, and triggers), sound recording, and basic circuitry. Small group facilitation ensures beginners build confidence quickly, while experienced kids can push their designs to the next level.

By the end, their working interactive sound structure will be installed for families and the community to explore and experience.
